“Purple NICU was born from a simple but powerful question why should only metro cities have access to the best neonatal care? I was a pediatrician running a busy NICU in Pondicherry, where we saw miracles happen every day. But I also saw parents traveling for hours, losing precious time their babies didn’t have. That’s when I knew: we had to take the NICU to them, not the other way around.”

The Journey of Purple NICU

From a single question, “Why should only metro cities have access to quality NICU care?” began our journey to Purple NICU. Born from years of frontline neonatal experience, it grew into a mission: to bring world class, compassionate newborn care closer to families in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. Today, Purple NICU stands as a movement. Powered by purpose, backed by science, and built on stories of survival, hope, and unwavering dedication.

2022

Nurturing the Next Generation

Started training our first batch of NICU nurses, setting new benchmarks in neonatal care.

2023

Innovation Begins at Jeevan NICU

Launched Jeevan NICU in Pondicherry and initiated our first AI assisted neonatal monitoring pilot.

2024

The Birth of Purple NICU

Purple NICU was officially launched, a national vision to bring quality NICU care closer to every baby.

2025

Expanding Horizons

Chennai NICU opened, with expansion plans underway across three more cities taking expert care where it’s needed most.

Our Mission

At Purple NICU, we are committed to expanding access to Level 3 NICU care in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, ensuring that no baby has to travel more than 50–80 km to reach life saving neonatal support. We focus on standardizing clinical protocols and care so that every baby, regardless of where they are born, receives the same evidence based, compassionate treatment. Our mission includes building affordable NICU models that are financially sustainable for families and operationally scalable for hospitals.

What's Next?

We are building the Purple NICU App, expanding our AI-based monitoring systems, and working on breastmilk donation awareness to save more lives together. Every innovation brings us closer to safer, stronger beginnings for newborns.
